halloween

October 31, 2009

Our day started out with some pumpkin carving, a couch removal, and a couch delivery.

First off pumpkin carving. Yes, we waited until the last day to carve our pumpkins. I'm glad we did because it was gorgeous outside and that's where they were carved!! No mess to clean up in the kitchen...YAY!! Alex carved his pumpkin, but he didn't want to clean out the guts....that's the best part! I did get him to do SOME of it. Aric, Lauren, and Madison didn't want anything to do with the carving of the pumpkins : (  All the kids did have fun outside enjoying the warm weather.

Having fun outside before trick or treating.

            Be brave.                                        Ewwwwww!                                 End result.

Madison loves her big brother.

Mommy's getting tons of kisses!                                      Lauren & her pumpkin.

While we were outside carving pumpkins, Grammy, Grandpa, Stephen, and William came over with our couch delivery (it was Paul's couch that was downstairs at their house). First thing they all did was to remove the old couch that was in our living room (it was Grammy and Grandpa's old couch). That couch has been a good reliable couch, but we all agreed it's time has come : (

After they moved that couch into the garage, they moved the nice black leather couch into the living room. That couch is SO comfortable!!! I love having the leather couch. It is so easy to clean when the kids make a mess on it. I must admit, I wasn't a big fan of leather with children, but now I think it's the way to go!

Once all the moving was done, it was time to eat a little dinner and get into costumes for trick or treating!!

Madison was a cat, Alex was a ninja, Paul was an alcoholic, Lauren was a witch, Aric was a non action figure, and I was a photographer (haha).

We were getting ready to head out when my sister called me to see if they could join us....absolutely!! So, Elizabeth was Minnie Mouse and Hannah was a ladybug.

I did the best I could to get everyone's eyes looking at me with somewhat of a smile on their faces. I'm hoping it will get better as they get older.

We all had a great time trick or treating until it started raining. Shelly and I decided to go forth with the older kids, but the two younger ones stayed inside with the two dads. It was quite an adventure and we ended the night with some pizza! I hope we can do this again next year ♥

Aric's home for a visit!!

October 30, 2009

I took the girls and we went on a road trip to Keene to pick up Aric for the Halloween weekend. He was very excited to see us. I think he might have been a little confused when we picked up a few things and took him outside to the car. Once we were in the car, all buckled up and ready to go, I think something might have clicked in his head. He realized he was coming home with us!! He got very excited and started Eeeeeeing like crazy!

Here are some pics of his first day home:

We started off playing nice ☺

Oh so innocent!

Then the claws came out!!

There was a HUGE fight over the piano.

While the fight was going on Madison was just reading her book.

Yes, there was some wrestling involved.

In the end, it all worked out ♥

Alex's birthday!!

October 25, 2009

For Alex's birthday I asked him what he wanted to do and he said he'd like to go over Grammy and Grandpa's house for dinner. Paul made a phone call and we set it up! We're good to go! Grammy asked if  it was okay for a few other people to be there and Alex said that it was fine with him.

May The Force Be With You!!

Alex was pretty excited about his cake!

Lauren is very serious when it comes to cake.

Madison's getting better with Grandpa ☺

new things

October 24, 2009

Today us girls went to Target and we got two new things, teething biscuits and rain boots. I know, they don't really go together. The teething biscuits are for Madison and the rain boots are for Lauren.

Madison's first try at the teething biscuit

Her first reaction...haha!!

I guess it must have been okay because she went back for more!

Lauren also wanted to give them a try...she really liked them.

6 months old

October 23, 2009

I know this is a little late, but better late than never...I guess!

Madison turned 6 months old on 10/23 and she's just been getting more and more independent. As of today, 11/11, she's been perfecting her crawling skills, sitting up all by herself, getting herself into a sitting position when she's on her tummy, loving little bites of people food (spag. sauce, cake & ice cream, and some oatmeal cream filled cookie) & her teething biscuits, cutting a tooth (on the bottom), and that's all I can remember right now.

I found the dress I took Lauren's 6 month pictures in and put it on Madison...it fit perfectly! So, I took some pictures of Madison in it so I could compare the two girls side by side. They look nothing alike....well, maybe a few features are the same, but not many!!!

And now onto the pictures of Madison with the birthday hat : )

This is what happened when I removed the pacifier.

Okay, we've recovered from the removal of the pacifier.

For Uncle Andrew...his new favorite pic!

After this shot it was pretty much over!! I'm sure you can all figure out why!?!

I wish she didn't have to grow up.

Aric turns 9 y.o.!!

October 13, 2009

When Paul got home from work, we all packed in the car and made the trip to Cedarcrest for Aric's b-day. I think he was very surprised to see us. We took him into the family room there and hung out and played and watched some tv! Aric and Daddy played pat-a-cake, Aric gave out TONS of kisses to everyone, we sang happy birthday to Aric, played some more, and then had to leave : (  All-in-all it was a very successful birthday trip!

The famous birthday hat!

You can pretty much figure out how this ended...haha!!

Playing with the toys.

These were some action figures that Lauren found in the toy box. Paul likes to call them the "non" action figures.

Brothers : )

Saying good-bye to the birthday boy : (

Happy 9th Birthday Aric!!!!

playing in the leaves

October 11, 2009

Paul decided to go outside and blow the leaves down back (no rakes for him...lol!). I asked him to make a leaf pile so the kids could play in them while it was a nice day out. Alex either wasn't around or didn't want to join in, but Lauren and Madison had a great time : )

When it was time to go in, Lauren didn't want to leave her leaf pile so, she stayed out with Daddy! Eventually the leaf pile had to go : (  There's always next year to look forward to!

warner fall foliage festival

October 10, 2009

We joined my sister, brother-in-law, and their two girls and had a nice outing. We went to the Warner Fall Foliage Festival and it was cold and windy, but we still had fun and ate some good food!

The two oldest girls got their faces painted.

Alex raced Auntie Shelly and Elizabeth down the big slide!

Paul took Lauren on the Merry Go Round and she was terrified. Just look at that face!

Miss Scratchy all bundled up.

My sister and I took the two oldest girls on the dragon ride. It spun around a lot faster than I thought it would!

crawling...step 1

Ocotber 8, 2009

Madison has worked her little body into the beginning stages of crawling! It's so adorable and she ends up going backwards....haha!!

Lauren wanted to show off her new way of wearing sunglasses.
